Nearly three-quarters of female cadets at Australia's military training academy have been sexually harassed, a government report says.
Conditions have improved, says the Australian Human Rights Commission report, but the review found the culture at the Australian Defence Force Academy still was far from ideal, with 74 per cent of female cadets reporting sexual or gender-based harassment.
The Defence Minister, Stephen Smith, ordered the review after a female cadet was secretly filmed having sex with a colleague. The clip was then posted online. Another report found predatory sexual behaviour and intimidation, after claims that sailors on HMAS Success had a contest to see who could have sex with the most female shipmates.
