'Barfly' writer dies

Charles Bukowski, who turned his drinking and womanising experiences into poems, novels and a film, has died aged 73, Reuter reports from Los Angeles. He became a cult favourite in Europe before achieving recognition in the US with the screenplay for the film Barfly.
