Beirut (Reuter) - President Elias Hrawi appointed the billionaire entrepreneur, Rafik al- Hariri, as Prime Minister yesterday to rebuild Lebanon and revive the economy.

Mr Hrawi named Mr Hariri, 48, to his first political post after MPs nominated him to head the third government since 15 years of civil war ended in 1990. Mr Hariri will form a a new government in consultation with parliament's Speaker, Nabih Berri, a presidential decree said.
