Potosi - A convicted murderer, Emmitt Foster, 42, was put to death by lethal injection yesterday in Missouri. A prison official said Foster took 29 minutes to die since his veins had collapsed through long-term drug abuse. "I do have remorse for the legal system because I did not commit this particular murder," Foster said before being administered the injection.
He was killed shortly after Pennsylvania carried out its first execution in 33 years, by the same method. Keith Zettlemoyer, 39, was executed in what he called ''a blessed, merciful release''. AFP.
