A 58-year-old man set sail in an effort to complete the first solo crossing of the Atlantic by a blind person, AFP reports from Baltimore. Hank Dekker, who lost his sight to glaucoma 16 years ago, is sailing for Plymouth in a 30ft yacht with a radar detector that sets off an alarm when a signal from another boat is detected.
