BRASILIA (Reuter, AFP) - The corruption allegations surrounding Brazil's President, Fernando Collor de Mello, claimed another victim yesterday, Jorge Bornhausen, when the Minister of Government resigned.
The move had been expected in the political crisis threatening to lead to Mr Collor's impeachment on charges that he made millions from government influence-peddling.
President Collor won a delay in his impeachment process yesterday when the Supreme Court gave him an additional week, until 22 September, to present his defence.
