'Bombay bomber' arrested
Indian police said yesterday that they had arrested an important member of the group which planned this month's bombing blitz on Bombay, in which at least 250 people died and 1,400 were injured, Reuter reports from Bombay.
'He knows the whole thing,' said Amarjeet Singh Samra, the Bombay police chief. 'He took part in conspiracy discussions in the week before the bombings.' While the suspect did not take part in the bombings - he opted out at the last minute - he was assigned a target and had received training. Mr Samra did not reveal his identity, except to say he was 'an aggrieved person'.
