Boy fights for life after stabbing

A boy of 12 was fighting for life in hospital last night after being stabbed as he tried to save his younger brother from a knifeman. A pensioner, Wilfred Marchant, was killed in the attack on Wednesday in a quiet Leicester street. An inquiry has been ordered because a man arrested for the murder was recently discharged from a mental hospital.
