PEKING - China said yesterday it had freed the second of two 'black hands' behind the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 - a move that diplomats said could save United States trade privileges and put political ghosts to rest. Chen Ziming, a 41-year-old intellectual sentenced to 13 years in prison in 1991, was freed for medical treatment late on Friday. Mr Chen's release follows the parole on 23 April of the other 'black hand', Wang Juntao, also for medical care. Reuter
