LONDON - The US embassy confirmed last night that Raymond Seitz would be retained as US ambassador to London, writes James Roberts. A spokesman said Warren Christopher, the Secretary of State, had informed the embassy of President Clinton's decision not to replace Mr Seitz, who was appointed by the former president, George Bush.
