A British teenager has been sentenced to six years in jail by a Moscow court for smuggling more than pounds 1m worth of cocaine into Russia.

Karen Henderson, 18, received three years for possessing the drug and another three years for transporting it. She was arrested in February with a Dutch woman companion at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport. The Dutch woman, Suzanne Vorstenbosch, pleaded guilty, but the British student claimed the drug was planted.
