Britons held by Kurdish rebels
A British engineer and his cousin who are missing in Turkey have been kidnapped by Kurdish rebels, it was confirmed yesterday, PA reports frpm London.
The news ended a week of speculation about the pair, David Rowbottom, 27, and Tania Miller, 28, who disappeared a week ago. The Kurdistan Information Centre in London said the two were taken by the People's Liberation Army of Kurdistan because they had been travelling without permission. They were 'safe and well'.
The Foreign Office said the British Embassy in Ankara was in touch with the Turkish authorities 'in order to ensure the safe release of the two'.
