ROME (Reuter) - The Italian government won a confidence vote on an emergency budget package aimed at stopping Rome's finances sinking further into the red. The measures will become law. They should trim the deficit by some 30,000bn lire ( pounds 14.3bn) although it is still expected to reach around 150,000bn lire this year. The Prime Minister, Giuliano Amato, said: 'After a month in power we have created a situation of great calm.'
