Some 250 Latin American, Caribbean and Spanish MPs, in a message in Colombia's El Espectador newspaper, called on Fidel Castro to quit, Reuter reports from Cartagena. 'Close your mandate with a gesture of real courage and generosity, giving the new Cuban generations the opportunity to choose their future, to know what real freedom is: RESIGN]' it said, during Mr Castro's visit to the city.
