The German unit of General Motors yesterday demanded the arrest of Volkswagen's production chief in an increasingly bitter dispute over alleged industrial espionage between the two carmakers, Reuter reports from Frankfurt. A spokesman for GM subsidiary Adam Opel AG said it would present evidence next week to back its accusation that Volkswagen's Jose Ignacio Lopez had stolen GM secrets.
