Carvajal suicide

Santiago - Patricio Carvajal, a former Chilean foreign minister and a leader of the 1973 coup that ousted President Salvador Allende, committed suicide on Friday after a long bout with prostate cancer, police said. The retired vice-admiral, 76, who shot himself, was a close associate of President Augusto Pinochet during the 17 years of military rule in Chile. Reuter
