ATLANTA (AFP) - Benjamin Chavis, a minister who was jailed for four years on fire-bombing charges that were later dropped, was chosen to head the biggest US civil rights organisation. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People chose Mr Chavis after a 12-month search and a long list of candidates including Jesse Jackson.
