The military government yesterday ordered the immediate discharge of child soldiers drawn into Sierra Leone's southern rebellion, AP reports from Freetown.
A government statement said it had recently learned that children under 15 had been recruited into the armed forces, 'due, no doubt, to the patriotism and heroism of those youths and the eagerness of recruiting personnel to put an end to the suffering of the nation'.
