Peking - China attacked the US for making excessive demands on its application to rejoin the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (Gatt) and warned that time was running out for agreement. 'Chinese analysts say the United States is hoping to contain China's trading power by creating difficulties that make it hard for China to gain Gatt re-admittance,' the official China Daily newspaper said.
