Chips down for Beirut
Parliament authorised the reopening of the Casino du Liban, famed before Lebanon's 1975-90 civil war for its gambling halls and spectacular floor shows, Reuter reports from Beirut. The casino, 50 per cent owned by the state, occupies a spectacular site overlooking the Bay of Jounieh.
