Clashes harm Angola accord
Luanda - Angolan radio yesterday reported new fighting between government forces and Unita rebels, and residents in the capital responded warily to news that a peace agreement could be signed soon. 'The military situation is tense,' state radio said. 'Unita attacked a column of vehicles 26km (15 miles) from (the northern town of) Saurimo and four people were killed.'
In Zambia's capital, Lusaka, teams from the Angolan government and Unita discussed a peace timetable, before seeking final approval from their leaders. Reuter
