A RADICAL lesbian activist was named yesterday to a top housing post in the administration, the first openly homosexual person to be nominated for a high-ranking government position, AFP reports.

Roberta Achtenberg, a lawyer, was appointed to the post of assistant secretary for fair housing and equal opportunity.
