President Bill Clinton yesterday signed the North American Free Trade Agreement into law effective from 1 January, Reuter reports from Washington. At an elaborate televised ceremony, he signed legislation approved by Congress last month to implement the prospective trading bloc between the US, Canada and Mexico.
