Handwritten notes that may shed light on the apparent suicide of the White House lawyer Vincent Foster were found in his office, Reuter reports from Washington.
The White House Communications Director, Mark Gearan, said the torn-up notes, found in Foster's briefcase, were now in the hands of authorities trying to learn what led to the death of the deputy counsel, a close friend and adviser to President Bill Clinton, in a park overlooking the Potomac river on 20 July. The notes, which were undated, related to Foster's 'state of mind concerning his job'. Mr Gearan declined to elaborate further.
