BRAZZAVILLE (Reuter) - Denis Sassou-Nguesso, the President of Congo, has been voted out of office. He finished a poor third in election results announced at the weekend, leaving Pascal Lissouba and Bernard Kolelas to contest a second round of voting on 16 August.
Mr Sassou-Nguesso is the third long-standing head of state in Africa to lose power in an election since 1989.
