Pakistan's Supreme Court dealt Benazir Bhutto, the Prime Minister, her most serious setback to date, returning to power a regional leader she had tried to oust.
The ruling was interpreted as criticism of her tactics during her three years in power, providing more ammunition for opponents who accuse her of corruption and incompetence. The court made the restoration of Manzoor Wattoo as chief minister of Punjab conditional upon a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly. Lahore - AP
