Cut delays EU travel project

European Union finance ministers rejected an attempt to secure pounds 900m in extra funding for a series of trans-European road, rail and airport projects.

EU officials said the decision might delay work but that all projects would be completed. They include high-speed railways, among them a link between London and Amsterdam.
