Death sentence for gangsters
Two members of Belgium's notorious 'Haemers gang', which kidnapped a former prime minister and staged a string of spectacular robberies in the late 1980s, were sentenced to death, Reuter reports from Brussels. The death sentences on Philippe Lacroix and Robert Darville will automatically be commuted to life imprisonment. Last May the gangleader, Patrick Haemers, committed suicide in prison.
