Nigerian opposition leader Moshood Abiola was arrested at his Lagos home yesterday after coming out of hiding to defy the military-backed government, AFP reports from Lagos. Earlier he had pledged to 2,000 supporters that he would press on with forming a democratic government in his first public appearance since being accused of treason 10 days ago.
