Algiers - The ambassadors of Yemen and Oman were feared kidnapped yesterday, a day after going missing in an Islamic militant stronghold near Algiers, security services and diplomats said.

A vehicle in which they had been travelling on Friday was found torched near the spot in the Khemis el-Kechna area where they went missing. They were identified as Hillal ben Salem ben Hammoud el-Siyabi of Oman and Gacem Askar Djebrane of Yemen. AFP
