A French court approved the extradition to Spain of five suspected members of the Basque separatist organisation Eta, including its presumed military chief Francisco Mugica- Garmendia, Reuter reports from Paris.

The Paris appeals court ruling did not mean the five would leave France immediately as the French government must first issue extradition decrees, themselves subject to review.
