MOSCOW (AP) - A passenger jet carrying the families of Russian soldiers serving in the troubled Nakhichevan region crashed while trying to take off yesterday, killing 29 people on board, Itar-Tass news service reported. The An-12 was travelling from Nakhichevan to Rostov, in southern Russia.
