A Paris court yesterday rejected claims by an elderly couple that they were the young lovers immortalised in Robert Doisneau's photograph 'Le Baiser de l'Hotel de Ville' in 1950. The judge who refused their demand for compensation also rejected a claim for thousands of pounds by the female model who actually posed for the picture.
