Aborigines meet
A three-day summit billed as the most important Aboriginal gathering since the arrival of the white man ended its second day without a word getting out to white Australia, AFP reports from Manyallaluk, Northern Territory. About 400 elders and Aboriginal community leaders converged from all over Australia to seek a unified position on a government decision to give Aborigines limited rights of veto over the use of land to which they have title.
