Amerika (AP) - The village in Saxony had one good selling point when it went on the auction block: its name, Amerika. The hamlet of 108 residents finally has a new owner, but the price was only DM5m ( pounds 2m). It was offered at twice that price last year when the Treuhandanstalt, in charge of selling off former state assets of Communist East Germany, featured Amerika in advertisements of its possessions.
