Angolan peace talks opened in Ivory Coast yesterday with the rivals exchanging handshakes and hugs but the United Nations warning that its patience was running out, Reuter reports from Abidjan.
After a formal opening ceremony, when both the Angolan government and the Unita rebels pledged their commitment to end renewed fighting, the talks were adjourned until this morning. Delegates agreed to discuss a ceasefire.
