PARIS (AFP) - The French film and stage actress Arletty, who immortalised the role of Garance in the film Les Enfants du Paradis, has died at her home here. Born Leonie Bethiat in May 1898, she was a favourite of the film directors Jacques Prevert and Marcel Carne, winning particular acclaim in Carne's Hotel du Nord.
