A babysitter in Hamburg thought of a novel way of earning extra cash - she sold the child while the parents were out, Reuter reports from Hamburg.

Police said she received 3,500 marks ( pounds 1,500) for the four- month-old baby. They said it was recovered unharmed eight hours after the 35-year-old babysitter reported it had been kidnapped.
