SARAJEVO (AP) - Sarajevo's Muslim-led defenders suffered heavy losses yesterday in battles to break the Serbian siege before new United Nations peace efforts begin in Geneva this week. Marrack Goulding, head of the UN peace-keeping operations, is due in Sarajevo tomorrow to start bringing artillery around the city under UN supervision. But Mr Goulding's impending arrival did little to silence the guns, with shells falling in several parts of the city. One person died and 19 were wounded in shelling in the battered suburb of Dobrinja. Bosnian officials reported 20 people killed across the republic in a 24-hour period up to early yesterday.
