BERLIN - Five MPs of Austria's far-right Freedom Party are to form a rival parliamentary faction in protest against the increasingly xenophobic and extremist positions of Jorg Haider, the party leader, writes Adrian Bridge. Heide Schmidt, the party vice-chairman, said that under Mr Haider the party had shifted ground on so many 'essential questions' that she could no longer support it.
