A British holidaymaker died after falling from a hotel balcony.

Kevin Louis, 26, fell 30ft to his death after hanging from a fifth-floor balcony in Majorca, according to newspaper reports.

He is believed to have lost his grip after asking his friends to count how long he could hold on.

The death is said to have happened after Mr Louis and a group of friends returned to the hotel in Puerto Adriano in Majorca in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A Foreign Office spokesman said they were aware of the death.

He said: "Consular assistance is being provided to the family."

According to reports, Mr Louis was from Ilford, east London. A Guardia Civil spokesman in Majorca was unable to confirm his address today.
