A British tourist has been stabbed and killed on the Greek holiday island of Zante, after the 19-year-old and his friends were attacked by two taxi drivers. Four others from the group, who are all thought to be from Basingstoke, were treated in hospital for injuries after the incident at the popular Lagana resort at 3am yesterday.

The stabbing reportedly took place outside a nightclub. The two taxi drivers were quickly arrested, with a 21-year-old now facing a murder charge and a 25-year-old charged with complicity to commit murder.

The killing apparently happened after the tourists, who had been drinking, began shining laser pens in the eyes of the two Greek men.

A 20-year-old British tourist also died on the Spanish island of Ibiza yesterday, after suffering a heart-attack at 4.30am.

Jodie Nieman, from Croydon in south London, had been in the Space nightclub in the Playa d'en Bossa resort at the time.
