Chancellor Helmut Kohl of Germany told the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Peng, that his country was eager to expand business contacts and trade with China, AP reports from Peking.
He told Mr Li that Germany had no problem co-operating with China in developing hi-tech, a pointed reference to US sanctions against providing China with some hi-tech that can be used militarily.
