Chinese admitted
Mexico agreed to receive and repatriate at least 659 Chinese stranded on three cargo ships in international waters off its Pacific coast, AFP reports from Mexico City. The Deputy Foreign Minister, Andres Rozental, said the boats would be seized and their crews tried for smuggling.
Mexico had initially rejected a US request to grant temporary asylum to the Chinese, who have been at sea for three months.
