The Supreme Court decided unanimously to indict the former president, Fernando Collor de Mello, on charges of passive corruption for his alleged role in a massive government kickback ring, AP reports from Brasilia. Mr Collor now faces a criminal trial in the Supreme Court. If found guilty, he could face eight years in prison.
