ALGIERS (Reuter) - Security forces have arrested six Muslim fundamentalists accused of killing a driver during an attempt to assassinate a captain in the para-military gendarmerie. Four of those seized in the western province of Oran last week were reported to be members of the Armed Islamic Movement (MIA), seen as an extremist branch of the outlawed Islamic Salvation Front. The report of the arrest was the first time information about the attack on the captain had been released.
