BUDAPEST (AP) - Water levels of the Danube dropped drastically as Czechoslovakia proceeded with diverting the river as part of the Gabcikovo- Nagymaros hydro-electric project. The level at Dunakiliti, a border town less than 12 miles south-east of the diversion site, fell 61 inches. Officials said the level at Budapest, normally 54in, was expected to fall to only 30in by today and 18in by tomorrow. The river is expected to return to near-normal levels after the diversion is completed.
