The Turkish-Cypriot leader, Rauf Denktash, approved on Saturday a new coalition cabinet formed after general elections held on 12 December, Reuter reports from Nicosia. Ozker Ozgur of the Republican Turkish Party was named State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the breakaway Turkish-Cypriot state declared in 1983 and recognised only by Turkey. 'This coalition will be long-lasting. We must work very hard to catch up with the Greek Cypriots in economic prosperity,' said Hakki Atun, the Prime Minister and Democratic Party leader.
