TOULOUSE (Reuter) - A French national-lottery winner facing bankruptcy after frittering away his pounds 286,000 prize money escaped the bailiffs by the skin of his teeth yesterday - by winning the lottery again.
The 52-year-old winner said that before striking lucky for the second time his telephone had been cut off, his car repossessed and his family threatened with expulsion from their home. He won pounds 1.8m.
