Draft rejected
Proposals by the US for a Palestinian autonomy deal aimed at ending the deadlock in peace talks are going back to the drawing board after a mission by Dennis Ross, a State Department envoy, AFP reports from Nicosia.
The Israelis and Palestinians told Mr Ross that the US would have to come up with a third version of its draft. The last version called for the question of east Jerusalem to be set aside until discussions begin on a final settlement, in line with Israel's wishes.
